In 2016, Swarovski Waterschool expanded its efforts to two new countries, one of those being the United States of America. Following the journey along the great rivers of the world, it seemed like the natural fit was to start a project at the Mississippi River. In the National Great Rivers Research & Education Center in St. Louis Metro East region Swarovski Waterschool has found a great partner to pave the way for a successful Waterschool project.
The goal of the Swarovski Waterschool United States of America is to increase the understanding of the human connection to and reliance on a healthy and functioning river ecosystem. The focus of the program is developing a curriculum to better connect Mississippi River communities to the river through strategic water education that is responsive to the needs, desires, and circumstances specific to the local communities.
